About Us

Owner and Designer, L. Michelle Davidson (Michelle), has been working in the field of interior design for over fifteen years and runs a full service in house design studio in California.  Helping people with their interior design needs yet maintaining sensitivity to her client’s desires and budget, Michelle founded Interior Design Service Online in 2007.  Her online design business was one of the first such services and remains a leader in online interior design.

Michelle has completed both residential and commercial projects.  She genuinely listens to her clients’ aesthetic, functional, and budgetary goals and creates a beautiful and livable space within this framework.  Michelle understands the delicate interplay between function and form in good design, and strongly believes that form must follow function in order for an interior meet the needs of her clients.

Michelle has a Bachelor’s degree from California State University Sacramento and a degree from University of California, Santa Barbara in Interior and Environmental Design.  Prior to starting her own companies, Michelle worked with prestigious design firms in San Francisco and Santa Barbara, CA.

Our Philosophy

We love online interior design as an alternative to the traditional design process.  The massive increase in websites with great looking and affordable home furnishings have given homeowners access to products that were once only available through interior designers.  Yet most homeowners do not know how to create a designer look, select furniture that fits the scale of the room and then tie it all together with correct paint colors.  Plus not everyone lives in an area where we have access to unique stores or highly trained interior designers that work in our location.
